We’re going to be Puppy Walkers!
I’ve just got off the phone to my Puppy Walking Supervisor from The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. She told me that we are suitable for a puppy and that one will be available next month! So in July, we will be fostering a puppy until he is around one year old. He will then go on train to become a guide dog.
This means so much to us as a family because my husband grew up with guide dogs, and knows first hand the value they bring to a blind person. His dad has retinitis pigmentosa, an inherited, degenerative eye condition that causes loss of vision and blindness.
We felt we wanted to give something back, and what better way than to give a future guide dog a great start in life?
